Yogesh, aka Yogi’s process of going about a tattoo is very simple. He tries to understand you as you understand him, and create a dialogue that leads to a unique, original tattoo.
As Yogesh says, “For me, tattoo is an expression. It’s an element to express yourself. You smile, cry, you think about it, because it is hard to take a permanent decision. It’s reminds you of a memory every time; a permanent emotional expression. When you click the picture of memory, it’s a memory of that time. There are times when people cannot share those memories with anybody, but they share with me. They trust me, so it is a big responsibility for me to get the right emotion, and deliver the right emotional artwork.”

I met Yogi at the Goa Tattoo Convention and found his work to be incredible. I saw the work of a lot of artists but his really got me interested the most. His realm really speaks to me. I love the style he uses, the elements he uses. I love the details, in short I love what everything he does, very simple in his tattoos, but still I was skeptical. I thought these are all still huge pieces, because his work if you check on Instagram, you’re gonna see he makes full legs and I thought to myself I am not sure that I am ready to get a such huge surface tattooed. So I confess I was a bit skeptical, but I found his art so beautiful, I loved his designs so much that I told myself I would really like to get a piece from him. He took pictures of my arm, observed how I moved around, because he really has that eye to make a piece which matches your body, and I think this is very important because some artists draw splendid tattoo designs that are marvelous but don’t fit at all with the morphology of the person wearing it. Yogi is a genuine artist who loves his craft and you can see this through the details in his work – the design and the tattoo itself. On a short-stint to Mumbai, I looked for artists to partner with me on an original piece. I found Yogi and after a quick email exchange, I knew he was the one. I shared the core elements that were most dear to me in my tattoo, an Indian Maori concept, and he came up with a stunning design and executed marvelously. The Leo Tattoos team (Yogi, Moses, Pramod and Sahana) is extremely professional to work with, and took excellent care of me and my needs – short time window, working on a Saturday (holiday for them), ordering food and sitting long hours (8 and 13.5 over two days). If you’re looking for an original design and working with a true artist that truly loves and lives this beautiful art-form, Yogi is the man!
I recently got my tattoo done at Leo’s from Sahana and it was the best decision EVER!
